About me

Hi, I'm Ann.

I'm a PhD-trained scientist, strategist, and program builder with experience across biotech, genomics, research commercialization, and scientific career development in Canada.
Over the course of my career, I've worked with researchers, trainees, startups, clinicians, industry leaders, and innovation organizations to help move ideas, people, and programs forward. My background spans bioinformatics and genomics, scientific program development, ecosystem building, and career mentorship within the Canadian life sciences sector.
I created BioCareer Compass because I saw a gap between scientific training and the realities of building a fulfilling career in biotech and life sciences. Many talented scientists feel overwhelmed navigating career transitions, industry expectations, networking, or leadership growth.
My approach combines practical strategy with honest guidance. I strive to provide thoughtful, actionable support tailored to your goals and circumstances.
Over my career, I've built programs like adMare's BioInnovation Scientist program (now offered through CASTL) that help professionals jump into biotech careers and participated in trainee mentorship programs such as Science2Business Network's program for graduate students and Toronto Metropolitan University's Science Faculty program for Science undergraduate students.
